DEFINATION BIOGRAPHY :
A biography is a story or information about a person's life. A biography is more complex than just a resume and data on a person's work, it also tells about the feelings involved in experiencing these events.
BIOGRAPHY FUNCTION :
1. To know someone's story about his life beyond any achievements, this person might be known
2. To provide a lot of information easily and educate the readers
CHARACTERISTIC OF BIOGRAPHY :
1. Biography is not written by subject and always written in the third person
2. Based on research
3. Describes the person's surroundinas (where, when, and how the person lived).
4. Use vivid language to narrate events
GENERIC STRUCTURE OF BIOGRAPHY :
- Orientation (Introduction)
It is the opening paragraph, gives the readers the background information of the person
In events, should be in chronological order
It consists of a conclusion or comment or the writer. Tell about the achievement or the contribution of the person

RA Kartini
Raden Adjeng Kartini is the daughter of Raden Mas Adipati Ario Sosroningrat, the regent of Jepara. He was born on April 21, 1879 in the city of Rembang. Kartini is the 5th child of 11 siblings and stepsisters. Kartini is the eldest daughter.
She is an indigenous woman of noble descent from the couple Raden Mas Adipati Ario Sosroningrat and M. A. Ngasirah. Therefore, he was allowed to study at the ELS or Europeesche Lagere School. Unfortunately at that time, only children who had aristocratic ancestry were allowed to receive primary school education. Even the Javanese tradition only allows girls to go to school until the age of 12.
Kartini has the desire to receive the same education as men. Therefore, Kartini did several ways in order to be able to realize her wish. One of the ways Kartini did was to learn Dutch and write for various newspapers, magazines and books. Kartini's knowledge is increasing because her hobby is reading Dutch books. Since then, Kartini began to be interested in the mindset of European women which made her want to advance the social status of Indonesian women who were still low at that time.
Because of Kartini's services, on May 2, 1964, she was given the title as a Hero of National Independence by President Soekarno who also set April 21 as Kartini Day to remember her services.

Thomas Alva Edison
Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio on February 11, 1847. His father was Samuel Odgen Edison and his mother was Nacy Mathews. In 1854 his parents moved to Port Huron, Michigan. Edison had grown up there.
As a child, Edison only had time to attend school for 3 months. His teacher warned little Thomas Alva Edison that he could not study at school so his mother finally decided to teach Edison himself at home. Although not in school, little Edison showed a deep curiosity and always wanted to try. Before reaching school age he had dissected animals, not to torture the animals, but purely driven by his great curiosity.
At the age of eleven Thomas Alva Edison built a simple chemistry laboratory in the basement of his father's house. A year later he succeeded in making a telegraph which, although primitive in shape, worked. In 1868 Edison got a job as a telegraph operator in Boston. All his free time is spent doing technical experiments. This year he also invented the electric intercom system.
In 1877, he busied himself with a problem that at that time was of concern to many researchers, namely the incandescent lamp. Edison realized how important such light sources were for human life. Therefore Edison devoted all his energy and time, and spent as much as 40,000 dollars earned from selling his inventions to companies and within two years he was experimenting with making incandescent lamps.
